Chainstack adds GitHub MCP registry support for developers

VS Code users can now find and install Chainstack directly rather than configuring a server URL manually. GitHub reviews servers before adding them to the registry, making the listing a signal of platform maturity. Every other supported assistant continues to connect directly via mcp.chainstack.com/mcp.

What Chainstack MCP does

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard, introduced by Anthropic in November 2024, that lets AI applications connect to external tools and data sources. • Testnet funding: “Get me testnet funds for Base Sepolia.” Works the same way across Sepolia, Hoodi, Amoy, BNB testnet, Solana devnet, and more.

Getting started takes one line: type “get mcp.chainstack.com” into any AI agent, and it fetches the onboarding page, understands what the server offers, and walks through setup on its own.

Availability

The Chainstack MCP server is live and available today at mcp.chainstack.com/mcp. Full setup guides for every supported AI assistant are published in the Chainstack MCP documentation. Five tools — documentation search, platform status, pricing, and contacting the Chainstack team — work without an account. Node lifecycle features require a free API key from any Chainstack plan, including the Developer tier at 3M request units per month.
