NOIA is a widely distributed and decentralized layer of the internet’s infrastructure. Empowered by distributed ledger technology and AI it enables everyone to supply their unused storage and bandwidth to optimize the way the Internet functions.
NOIA Network started as a Distributed Peer-to-Peer Content Delivery Network, governed by blockchain. Our goal was to create a technology which empowers regular people’s computers to cache data and utilise their unused bandwidth to speed up data delivery for content providers. We delivered the technology and fully open-sourced it. We have over 5000 NOIA Network nodes downloaded and at least 300+ running at any one time, sharing over 25TB of spare data capacity. During the process we found that there are many problems with the internet itself in its core, which can’t be solved by just having more edges and yet another overlay network.
