UNICEF coalition broadens digital education efforts with Bitget support
Bitget has renewed its support for UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition (GCC), a global initiative focused on improving digital education access for young people in emerging economies. The partnership enters its second year with plans to expand the program’s reach and introduce new learning tracks centered on financial literacy and artificial intelligence.
Since launching, the coalition has reached more than 642,000 young people, parents, and teachers across Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa. According to UNICEF, girls account for 52% of participants involved in the initiative so far.
Led by UNICEF’s Office of Innovation, GCC brings together organizations from both the public and private sectors to help students develop practical technology skills. The initiative combines online and in-person learning experiences, including hackathons, mentorship opportunities, and community-based programs designed to improve digital readiness in regions where access to technology education remains limited.
Bitget first joined the coalition in 2025 through a partnership with UNICEF Luxembourg. During the first year of collaboration, the crypto exchange participated in several education-focused initiatives, including a visit to Cambodia by Bitget Chief Marketing Officer Ignacio Aguirre. The visit connected company representatives with students, teachers, and local partners involved in digital skills programs.
The coalition also organized its first global UNICEF Game Jam in late 2025, a 40-day event where young participants created original video games with guidance from mentors and self-paced educational resources.
“Technology is becoming part of everyday life faster than education systems can adapt. What stood out during our work with UNICEF this year was how quickly young people engage once they are given access and opportunity. Our eventual goal is not only to introduce blockchain or digital tools, but to help build confidence and long-term digital and financial literacy that can create opportunities far beyond crypto.”
—Gracy Chen, CEO at Bitget
The expansion comes as demand for digital and financial skills continues to grow globally, especially in markets where younger populations rely heavily on mobile technology but have fewer formal education opportunities in emerging tech sectors.
New curriculum modules and geographic expansion planned
The second year of the partnership will focus on expanding GCC into three additional countries while broadening its curriculum with new financial literacy and AI modules. Blockchain-focused educational content is also planned for introduction in 2026.
UNICEF’s Office of Innovation said the program aims to prepare young people for a rapidly changing economy increasingly shaped by technology and digital finance tools.
“Too many young people are still locked out from the skills driving the digital transformation shaping today’s economy. GCC is a clear response to this need. The initiative brings industry, governments, and communities together so the next generation has the skills, confidence, and opportunity to lead in a technology-driven economy. Alongside Bitget we expand to reach even more young people with the skills they need.”
—Thomas Davin, Global Director at UNICEF Office of Innovation
Founded in 2018, Bitget says its platform now serves more than 120 million users globally and continues to position digital literacy initiatives as part of its broader growth strategy. The company has also pursued partnerships with organizations across sports, entertainment, and education sectors.
The bottom line
The renewed partnership between Bitget and UNICEF highlights a growing focus on digital education as governments, nonprofits, and technology companies respond to changing workforce demands. By adding financial literacy and AI training to its curriculum, the Game Changers Coalition is broadening its approach beyond basic digital access toward practical skills that may play a larger role in future employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
