Augmented Reality Is Becoming Increasingly Popular But One Key Issue Still Remains

Augmented reality (AR) technology allows users to visualize and customize products in a 3D environment, making it particularly useful for the concept of the metaverse, which is a digital reality space where people interact with a computer-generated environment and other users. AR systems are built on the integration of digital and physical environments, real-time interaction, and accurate 3D object visualization. AR has the potential to make the most of digital ecosystems and is expected to be fully embedded in daily life by 2024 with the development of fully functional AR glasses. However, AR has limitations, including issues with GPS accuracy and a steep learning curve, as well as compatibility and safety risks. To address these issues, OVER has developed the Map2Earn Beta program to improve the spatial accuracy of AR and enable anyone with a smartphone to contribute to the project. Future releases of Map2Earn will allow for the creation of AR maps to be minted as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and traded on the OVER marketplace and other decentralized marketplaces.
